Vane Lunática

Background

Vane Lunática

Vane Lunática is an artist born in Tenerife, where she studied a degree in Media Communications, specializing in creativity and conceptualization, before turning her life upside down to pursue a career on stage.

Her circus experience began by starting up one of the first Aerial Theatre Companies in The Canary Islands and collaborating with other companies in the creation and performance of aerial choreographies. Later on she participated on musicals on national tour and worked as an aerial and pole dance performer across the world.

Her sport/artistic background commenced with synchronized swimming, contemporary dance, acrobatic dance (aerial silks, lyra and vertical dance) and finally pole dance.

Pole dancing granted her the opportunity of travelling the world sharing her art through performances, competitions and workshops.

She has won renowned international contests as Pole Theatre UK 2016 and Felix Cane Pole Championships 2017, among others, and she became finalist in the IPC 2018.

Her performances are characterized by her unique style, sometimes surreal and experimental, and by her fluid, dynamic and contemporary moves, strongly influenced by a message or a character.

Her idea of “Lunática” (lunatic) is being able to reinvent herself once and again in a way that no single performance can define who she is, but the lot of them, the infinite versions of someone who doesn’t get bored, always learning and rediscovering oneself, like the moon and its cycles.

What is your worst nightmare?

“The spinning pole stops during a split just when I'm showing my crotch to the public”
